Chuck Moritt

Chuck Moritt is a Principal in Mercer’s Baltimore/Washington office serving as a global M&A engagement manager. Chuck is responsible for managing local, national and global consulting assignments. Recent M&A strategic consulting assignments include:

  • Facilitating executive team workshop sessions and serving as senior team advisor on integration and divestiture planning. Issues include workforce restructuring and alignment, executive/key employee retention strategies, retirement, healthcare, communication, sales force (design and compensation) and broad-based employee compensation, as well as managing a multi-country international integration projects; serves as ongoing advisor throughout implementation.

  • Serving as lead consultant and executive team facilitator for a UK-based global client in creating an HR M&A service delivery model to increase internal capabilities and more effectively align with internal corporate development deal management process. Assignment included developing organization models, customized tools/process, developing and delivering training curriculum.

  • Serving as lead consultant for due diligence projects covering domestic only, non-US companies purchasing inside the US, and US companies purchasing globally. Manage multi-disciplinary/multi-country due diligence teams and serves as interface to the client’s senior deal executives. Issues include executive contracts/compensation, retirement programs, workforce retention, culture and employee engagement, unions/works councils/restructuring notification requirements and integration considerations.

  • Developing enterprise-wide, end to end, M&A deal flow and management processes beginning with target identification through integration planning/management. Assignment included facilitating senior management team workshop sessions and serving as CEO’s advisor throughout the process.

  • Advising on Joint Venture strategy to include developing JV Charter and Governance Models, aligning requirements and contributions of the JV partners, and developing comprehensive HR strategy (eg staffing models, total rewards strategy and HR operating infrastructure requirements)

Representative clients include AstraZeneca, BAE Systems, Inc., Carlyle Group, Constellation Energy Group, Doosan, Enbridge, Inc., and Freddie Mac. Chuck also leads Mercer’s group focusing on talent management and human capital requirements during M&A transactions, has served as co-presenter on Mercer’s M&A townhalls entitled “Optimizing Workforce Strategy to Realize the Value of your M&A Transaction” and “Retention Strategies in M&A Transactions.” These web-casts were broadcast in the US and Europe to over 300 clients and prospects. Chuck is also a regular presenter in Mercer’s M&A Ready program in both the US and Europe, as well as having delivered customized training to multi-national diversified services companies.. Chuck has been with Mercer since 1989. He holds BA from University College at the University of MD in general business and holds enrolled actuary’s certification.
