Roxanne Horning
Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Gannett
Roxanne V. Horning is Senior Vice President/Human Resources for Gannett Co., Inc. She is a member of the Gannett Management Committee, the company's advisory group of top executives. She is responsible for human resources programs and initiatives throughout Gannett, and heads up the Leadership and Diversity component of Gannett's strategic plan.
Horning joined Gannett in 1984 as Manager/Employee Benefits, became Director/Employee Benefits in 1986, Vice President/Employee Benefits in 1995, and Vice President/ Compensation and Benefits in 2003. She was appointed Vice President/Human Resources in April 2005 and promoted to her current position in July 2006. She is also a member of Gannett's Senior Human Resources Council and was named Corporate Staffer of the Year in 1997.
Horning has more than 30 years of experience in employee benefits, compensation and human resources. Prior to Gannett, she served as Employee Benefits Manager at the Federal Reserve Board and was Director of Employee Benefits for Garfinckel, Brooks Brother, Miller & Rhoads, Inc., a Washington-based national retail chain. Horning is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Human Resources Council of The Conference Board, the ERISA Committee and the media industry HR Executive group. She graduated from Smith College and resides in Bethesda, Maryland, with her husband and two children.
