Martín Ibañez-Frocham
Mercer - Buenos Aires
Martín is a worldwide partner with Mercer. He serves as the Latin America market development leader and is a member of Mercer's Latin America operations committee. Previously, he was chief operating officer for Mercer México and country head for Mercer Argentina.
Martin has 15 years of experience in human resources, combining consulting and line management, in areas such as human capital strategy, incentive compensation plan design and implementation, design of career path and development programs, and development and implementation of performance management programs.
Martin has consulted with clients in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela and the US. He has authored articles and has been quoted on executive compensation and human capital strategy in numerous publications including World at Work Journal, WorkSpan and Harvard Business Review. He also serves as a lecturer and seminar/workshop leader in human resource management in the Latin America region.
Martín's experience includes consulting with clients in retail, telecommunications, oil and gas, consumer products, pharmaceutical, financial services and the utility industry. Prior to Mercer, he was the compensation and benefits manager at IBM for South Latin America and human resources manager for the Buenos Aires office of Accenture. He also worked for Procter & Gamble and Abbott Laboratories.
Martin has a bachelor's and a master's degree in pharmacy and biochemistry from the University of Buenos Aires and an MBA from CEMA Buenos Aires/Argentina. He also has a degree from the Management Development Program at IAE in Argentina. He teaches at the MBA program at CEMA, and has served on the faculty at the Universidad del Salvador and the Universidad Torcuato DiTella.
