In January 2008 Dr. Linda Myers was “inpatriated” to Seoul, South Korea from the United States to raise global mindsets, lead Global Talent Management, develop global policies and practices, and help accelerate globalization of SK Group, an $80 billion South Korean holding company. SK has 35,000 employees across 12 different operating companies, has business presence in 30 countries, and is ranked 72nd on the Fortune Global 100 list. Dr. Myers serves as SK’s first foreign female executive.

Dr. Myers was born and raised in New York City. She believes that her personal background (bicultural family, first exposure to international peers and travels to EU before age 12) have been the source of her fascination and joy in learning about other cultures. She has chosen to work and travel to all 7 continents, and thanks her younger brother for getting married and having two great kids.

Over the past 25 years, Dr. Myers has been recognized as a trailblazer both as a global human capital practitioner and consultant. Prior to joining SK Group, Dr. Myers served in various global strategic leadership capacities with multinational companies including Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Munich ReInsurance, PriceWaterhouse, and Bristol Myers Squibb and smaller consulting companies like China Human Resources Group to facilitate joint ventures between US multinationals and state owned businesses in the PRC.

Dr. Myers attended Goucher College (almost identical to Ewha), earning her Masters and Doctoral degrees from Harvard University. Her work addressed pre-, during, and post-integration challenges of the first global pharmaceutical merger including strategy and culture alignment, executive selection, employee communication, and outcomes assessment.
