Seng Chai Tan
Senior Vice President of Human Resource, CapitaLand Ltd
Mr Tan oversees the human resource function in CapitaLand Group and one of his primary responsibilities is to develop the Group's talent pool across all levels. CapitaLand is one of the largest listed real estate companies in Asia. Headquartered in Singapore, the multinational company's core businesses in real estate, hospitality and real estate financial services are focused in gateway cities in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. The company's real estate and hospitality portfolio spans more than 110 cities in over 20 countries.
Prior joining CapitaLand, Mr Tan was with Chartered Semiconductor Mfg Ltd, Singapore for more than 10 years. He held key positions in the company including heading its worldwide human resource organization as well as overseeing key project implementation and strategic investment activities.
An engineer by training, Mr Tan started his career with National Semiconductor Mfr Pte Ltd, Singapore as a Process Engineer and subsequently became the Human Resource Manager of the company. He continued his career progression to head the human resource function in a computer multi-media company - Creative Technology Ltd, Singapore, before joining Chartered Semiconductor Mfg Ltd.
Mr Tan holds an honours degree in Civil & Structural Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Industrial & System Engineering from National University of Singapore.
